FAQ

Everything, answered

The questions salon owners actually ask — pricing, switching, payments, no-shows and more.

Pricing

Is Slotora really free?

Yes. Every feature is free — unlimited bookings, unlimited clients, your whole team, reminders, gift cards, passes, marketing tools, the mobile app, all of it. No card is needed to sign up.

Do you take commission on my bookings?

Never. 0% commission on bookings, gift cards and passes — and that will not change. Your prices are your money.

What's the catch?

No catch: no ads, no selling your data, no commission. We built the platform to be radically cheaper to run than the incumbents, and we grow by salons recommending us.

If I take card payments, are there fees?

Card payments are optional and run on your own Stripe account. Slotora adds 0% — you only pay Stripe's standard card processing fee (about 1.5% + 20p for UK cards), the same as any card machine.

Getting started & switching

How long does setup take?

About 15 minutes: add your services and working hours, pick your brand colour, and your booking page is live at slotora.co.uk/b/your-name.

Can I switch from Fresha, Booksy or Treatwell?

Yes — usually in a day. Export your client list from your old system and use our Import Centre: it accepts any Excel or CSV file, auto-detects the columns, and imports clients, services with prices, and photos.

Can I take my data OUT of Slotora?

Any time. Your clients, bookings and services can be downloaded as CSV files, or everything at once as a JSON bundle. Your data is yours — you're never locked in.

Do my clients need to create an account or download an app?

No. Clients book on your web page in a few taps — name, email, done. They get email confirmations, reminders and a self-service link to reschedule or cancel.

Bookings & calendar

Can each team member have their own schedule?

Yes — per-person weekly hours, split shifts (several time slots a day), one-off date exceptions, and their own services with custom durations or prices. Clients pick a professional or 'Anyone'.

Does it handle colour processing time?

Yes. Set a processing window on a service (e.g. colour developing) and your calendar automatically frees up for another client while the product works.

Group classes?

Yes — capacity-based sessions (yoga, masterclasses, group PT) that fill up spot by spot, with a waitlist when they're full.

What happens when someone cancels?

The guest gets a cancellation email, the slot opens instantly, and anyone matching on your waitlist is notified automatically so the gap gets refilled.

Can I move bookings around?

Drag & drop any booking to a new time or to another team member — a small dialog confirms the exact time before anything changes, and the client is emailed automatically.

Payments, deposits & no-shows

Can I take deposits?

Yes — optional card payments via your own Stripe account: a percentage, a fixed amount, or full payment at booking. You choose, and you can turn it off any time.

Can I charge no-show or late-cancellation fees?

Yes. Set your fee and your cancellation window; the client's card is saved securely by Stripe at booking, and you can charge the fee in one click if they don't show or cancel late.

How do reminders reduce no-shows?

Automatic email reminders go out before every appointment (you choose how many hours ahead), in the client's own language, with a reschedule link — most 'no-shows' are really just forgetfulness.

Can clients still pay in person?

Yes — allowing on-site payment alongside (or instead of) online payment is a single toggle.

Growth & marketing

Can clients book from Instagram and Facebook?

Yes — put your booking link in your Instagram bio and action button, a Story 'BOOK' highlight, and your Facebook page's Book Now button. Our help centre has the exact clicks for each.

Does it work on my existing website?

Yes — a booking button, a popup widget or a fully embedded booking page. Ready-made snippets and step-by-step guides for WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Shopify and Webflow.

Gift cards and passes?

Both built in: sell gift cards with emailed codes, and multi-session passes (e.g. 10-session gel pass) that redeem automatically at booking.

Email campaigns?

Yes — send offers to all clients, lapsed clients or tagged segments, with an AI copywriter to draft the text. Coupons with validity windows and usage limits are included.

Apps, languages & data

Is there a mobile app?

Yes — a native app for business owners (Android now, iOS coming) with push notifications for new bookings. Your clients don't need any app.

What languages does it support?

The product works in English, Hungarian, Polish, Romanian, German and Turkish. Your clients see the booking page in their own language, and their emails follow it too.

Is my data safe? Are you GDPR compliant?

Data is stored encrypted in the EU/UK (London region), we use only strictly necessary cookies, and we never sell data or run ad trackers. Full details in our Privacy Policy; account deletion and complete data export are built in.
